We had a great turnout for the tryout process, and we have a record number of teams.  Can't wait to get started and looking forward to seeing the Scituate travel basketball teams in competition this season!

Our Mission

The SBA's mission is to promote and support competitive youth basketball teams, enhance and improve player's skills, fundamentals, and foster a positive environment of sportsmanship and teamwork, along with character development.  To the greatest degree possible, the SBA and its' coaches adapt their programs to be in alignment with Scituate High School boys and girls programs in terms of philosophy and tactics.

The SBA may partner with, work and cooperate with individuals and other entities, groups, organizations, officials, and private and public governmental agencies.

Scituate Travel Basketball - Winter Season 2020-21

Thanks all for your patience in these unprecedented times.  Following the guidance of the e Mass Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) and the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA), winter basketball leagues have been given the green light to proceed with a 2020-21 season.  The respective youth travel leagues are preparing for an early January start for their games, to be held at neutral sites on the South Shore – Wolves Den in Pembroke and Starland in Hanover are the probable sites for games.

The SBA will be taking every precaution to provide a safe environment for the boys, girls, and coaches participating this season.  A few notes:

  • The registration link can be found HERE
  • Fees for this season are $200; at the end of the registration process, you will have the option in the “Shopping Cart” to choose “Scheduled Payments” in which you’ll be charged $50 upon registration and the remaining $150 on 12/31/2020; all registration fees are refundable if you decide to not participate for any reason
  • Due to the added precautions and player tracking we need to have a hard deadline on the registration. Registration will end 12/11/2020.
  • Rule modifications and guidelines that we intend to follow can be found HERE
  • There will not be any tryouts this season due to the compressed timing and lack of available gym space currently in Scituate.  The SBA board will pick the teams primarily based on previous seasons (please bear with us during this process).  All kids will be assigned to a team.
  • COVID waivers and further guidelines will be distributed to each participant prior to the start of the season, and will be mandatory for all coaches and players

The SBA is excited to be able to continue our program this season, and looks forward to getting back on the courts in the coming weeks.
